Schuco #1042 Midget Micro Racer 1951 Western Germany 3 1/8" Long Excellent

This is a Schuco #1042 Midget Micro Racer.  It is made of diecast metal and was made in Western Germany beginning in 1951.   It is 3 1/8" long and has a clockwork motor with grey rubber tires on bright metal hubs.  The steering is worked by turning the knob at the rear and there is an on-off switch at the right side of the cockpit. This model is in excellent original condition with some minor edge wear. The wheels or hubs, are  made of chrome plated, diecast metal.  The rear hubs have small cracks and the left  one is missing some of the chrome plating.  This racer works great.  A replacement key is included.
