African Violet Wick Pot

This item has been handmade in Australia by Alan & Maureen Binns from Australian Stoneware Clay
We trade under the name of Oceanview Pottery

Our African violet wick pot is a simplified version of the two piece African Violet pot most commonly available, making it much cheaper but just as effective.
It consists of a glazed pot, a 10cm plastic pot and an 8cm wick. The wick is placed into the hole at the base of the plastic pot so that half its length is protruding out of the bottom of the pot.

Use a good quality African Violet potting mix when planting your violet into the plastic pot.
To start the capillary action of the wick, pour water through the top until water drips off the wick.
The stoneware pot acts as a reservoir for the water and nutrient.
(I always use Kenrose African Violet Nutrient)
You need to put about 2-3cms of water into the pot.  It is important to have only the wick in the water and not the plastic pot.
Your violet will thrive if kept in a room with plenty of light and out of draughts

Dimensions: Height - 12cms Made to fit a 10cm plastic pot.

Buy two to reduce the cost of postage!!!

To ensure you receive your pots in good condition, we wrap and pack them into a handmade box made of heavy duty cardboard. We have achieved great success with this method (see our feedback comments) , but can't be held responsible once they leave our premises.
