Antique High Quality Wilson & Bohannan U.S.A. Brass Lock in really fine working condition.(see last pic of the 12 for a look at a rough cast lock which has rail logo on back-'not pictured', this rough cast lock is close to this smooth finished one here).
Personally my assumption/findings on this lock is that it's on the rarer side, being it's a non logo lock with a smooth finish and it's in perfect working condition.
#81 first appears in the 1880's catalog.
This was from a great collection of Fire Fighting and Some Early Jail items.
You won't be disappointed it's a gorgeous lock with some wear on it from years of being used at some point in it's long life.
Brass dust door works perfectly with nice strong spring action and when locking & unlocking it makes a nice click/snap sound.
I don't know exact age or manufacturer date so please be aware of this before you bid/buy.

The owner did clean his brass items in his collection as with most Fireman that's what they do, this one could have been cleaned at some point and with that said by looking at the Pictures you can still see the lock has a nice look to it with some darkened accents to the brass.
Also I should mention, that collecting fire related items was one passion, but his other was with early Jail items, he had some old Sections of Cell Bars designed into his display of item's such as this lock.(particularly his bar which was built like a Jail Cell).
Lock is right at 2"&1/4 inches wide and it weight's right at 10 ounces with it's key.
