Toilet Training is an area of particular difficulty for those caring for a child with an autistic spectrum disorder. Whether it's a sensory issue or breaking the ingrained routine of wearing a nappy, it can be a deeply stressful experience.

The social story part of this pack aims to assist in creating a new and successful routine by discussing when we should go to the toilet, why we need to use the toilet and then explains the steps of going to the toilet (these match the cards in the toilet schedule to further reinforce the message and provide a continuous message. Your book is seven pages long, comb bound and laminated for durability.

The schedule part of the pack is designed to be a comprehensive aid to toilet training or for reinforcing that toileting routine. Visual aids can also give a feeling of safety and comfort to those who thrive on routine and visual communication, such as those with ASDs and ADHD/ADD.

It compises a laminated sheet with a velcro strip running horizontally across the centre. Twenty four cards are included to cover all stages of the toileting process, including cards for girls and boys, and different clothing types (please see images for the exact cards included in your pack). Included in these are a choice of two cards to congratulate the user when they have completed their schedule.
