"64e. Vue D'Optique, Representant La Bourse Royale a Londres.  Et presentement chez Basset rue Ste. Jacques au coin de celles des Mathurins. Il tient Fabrique de Papiers peint." The engraving bears an imprint "Presentement ches Lachaussee rue S. Jacques....A Paris chez Daumont rue St Martin."

A very fine example of a Vue D'Optique, a system developed in France whereby when viewed through a zograscope, the image would appear in 3D. No self-respecting middle or upper class household at this time would be without its zograscope!!

It is a fine image looking down Cornhill towards St Pauls (reversed, for the optical machine), with much interesting street activity. The colours are particularly vivid in this fine example.

Size: The mount measures 58cms x 46cms. The image displayed within the mount is some 42cms x 28cms.

Condition: This looks to be in a very fine condition, the colours strong and bright. Please note the photos were taken through a protective polythene covering and there may be reflections.
