Lacy Tree Fern (Cyathea Cooperi) - 25+ Fresh Spore (seeds)

Cyathea cooperi, commonly known as the Lacy Tree Fern is a medium to large, fast growing tree fern with a 10-12 m high slender trunk that can reach 15 cm in diameter. It is native to Australia where it is naturally found in tropical lowlands, along the coast of Queensland and New South Wales. It is a very popular tree fern in cultivation due to its rapid growth form, hardiness and aesthetic appeal.

Cyathea cooperi is quite distinctive from C. australis in that it has a more slender trunk with distinctive "coin spots" where old fronds have broken off the trunk. C. cooperi fronds are bright green and lacy and tend to be very fast growing and can reach as much as 4 metres in length.

It likes an abundance of water and a sunny location. It is adaptable to a range of soils and can take direct to dappled sunlight. Coming from a warmer more northerly climate than Cyathea australis it is not as cold hardy, but can take temperatures down to -4c.

It makes an excellent fast-growing feature or tub plant.

Easy to propagate from spore with no additional equipment required.
