This individual sauce boat is from the University Club of Cincinnati. The Lamberton Scammell marking on the bottom dates the item to being made in the years of 1926-1928. The logo is outlined in black with brown letters. The sauce boat also has a line areound the rim and down the handle.
This item has no chips or cracks.

LAMBERTON SCAMMELL CHINA
Lamberton China of Trenton, New Jersey (no longer in
business) was a major US supplier of heavy-weight commercial restaurant ware
& topmarked logo china to railroads, steamships, hotels & diners and
company cafeterias as well as all branches of the US Military. In 1923, David
William Scammell and his five brothers purchased the Maddock Lamberton Pottery
Company. David had begun working for Maddock in 1901, quickly rising through
the company's ranks to the position of Vice President. The name was changed to Scammell
China Company after the sale. After David Scammell'sw death in 1952, the
company had severe financial problems & their assetts were sold at auction.
