Fitting Instructions:
The best way to find your bra size is to try on a garment while working with an expert fitting.
Before you measure yourself, start by wearing your bra; be sure it's not a padded bra, a sport bra or a minimizer. Make sure your straps are adjusted correctly so that they are secure but not too tight or loose. The fullest part of your bust should be approximately halfway between your elbow and shoulder.
The Band:
Band Measurement - Method 1:
Standing in front of the mirror, wrap the tape measure so it comes just under your arm pits and around your front just above your bust. The number will be your band size but you should also try one size up and one size down from what you measure, to find the most comfortable size for you. If you measure 40, try a 38, 40 & 42 and evaluate how it feels. Remember that too loose will not be supportive and too tight is uncomfortable and can cause pain.
Band Measurement - Method 2
It's important to stand in front of a mirror in order to ensure you have the tape measure wrapped correctly - just under your bust & shoulder blades, where the band of the garment is located. The tape should be parallel to the floor for you to get the right measurement.
When calculating your band measurement you must remember this is a guide and you may have to try a couple of different sizes before you find one that fits correctly. If the number is odd add 5" and if it is even add 4". The band sizes have a difference of 2" per size so it is best to try the band size number you calculated along with one that is smaller and one that is larger. If you measure 37" + 5" = 42, try 42, but if it feels loose try a 40 or a 44 if it feels to tight.
The Cup:
Still standing in front of a mirror, wrap the tape measure around your back so it comes around your fullest part of the bust, usually at the apex. Make sure you keep the tape measure parallel to floor so there are no angles. Again, this is a guide and does not account for the fullness of your bust, only the projection from your body so it is best to try on the bra and evaluate what you see & feel in order to find what will best fit your needs.
Take the number on the tape measure and subtract it from the band measurement. This gives you the number to look on our chart in order to determine your cup size. If the band size you calculated in the above example is a 42 and your cup measurement is a 47, then 47-42 = 5, which is an E/DD cup. If you try a smaller band then be sure to go up a cup size, in this case it would be an F. If you were to go up a band size then try a D cup. Review our bra measurement matrix to help calculate your size.
