IAN OGILVY - AUTOGRAPHED SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH - HFSID 44403

IAN OGILVY
Small 5½x3¼ signed b/w headshot of actor and children's author Ian Ogilvy in front of a brick wall
Photograph signed "Ian Ogilvy" in blue ink. Lead pencil notations on verso in unknown hand. B/w, 5½x3¼ overall, 4¼x3¼ image, printed on cardstock. British stage, TV and film actor Ogilvy, born in 1943, is probably best known for taking over the role of Simon Templar from Roger Moore in Return of the Saint (1978-1979), although American audiences may know him better as Lawrence Kirbridge from Upstairs, Downstairs (1972). He's appeared in over 90 movies and TV shows, with starring roles in such movies as The Sorcerers (1967), Witchfinder General (1968) and Death Becomes Her (1992) and recurring roles in Orlando (1966), The Spoils of Poynton (1970), Tom, Dick and Harriet (1983), Malibu Shores (1996) and the daytime drama Generations. He's also made numerous appearances on American TV, in his words, "as the archetypal English Baddie". Babylon 5 may recognize him as Lord Jano from the 1998 episode In the Kingdom of the Blind. Ogilvy is also the author of the Measle Stubbs children's books, which include Measle and the Wrathmonk (2004), Measle and the Dragodon (2004), Measle and the Mallockee (2005), Measle and the Slitherghoul (2006) and Measle and the Doompit (2007), and the novels Loose Chippings (1996), The Polkerton Giant (1997) and A Slight Hangover (2000). Lightly toned and creased. Signature has low contrast in places but is legible. Show-through from staining on verso at right edge (does not touch signature). Light impressions on image (not visible head-on). Irregular top and bottom edges. Otherwise in fine condition.
