Measurements: (measured with the garment lying flat and not stretched)
Shoulders: 14"
Bust: 31"
Waist: 24" (the length of the torso and where the waist falls on your body may be adjusting using the matching belt. The close cut waist and bust area is intentional and allows one to adjust the level of the coat's twist as well as the placement of the garment's torso on the wearer's body.)

Lining is long in sleeves and peeks out from under top layer.

Made in Japan

Design Notes: Dual layer. Can be worn as a dress or as a coat. When worn as a coat, it can be worn half buttoned so appear casual. Detailing includes, adjustable belts at cuffs, dual flap button closure diagonal pockets at hips. Single vent in back.

Junya's genius as a conceptual designer and pattern-maker becomes evident when analyzing the design of this trench coat. His designs have an internal logic to the individual pieces. This logic is consistent when applied to his designs across all seasons. For example, despite the extremely complex construction typical to the design of his garments, it is quickly clear where any given buttons should secured. With most garments, there is only one way to close the garment completely; each "male" fastener has an obvious "female" anchor that matches it.

This trench coat may be worn as a dress. The interior, foundation layer is designed to look like a long-sleeved shift dress with a crew neck. It's front features a double-breasted panel constructed using the same knit in price of wales check. Sleeves made of cupra that serve as lining to the coat are attached to the foundation layer. The exterior layer is button onto the foundational, interior layer by means of "anchor" buttons. These "anchor" buttons are what allow the unique twisted structure design of the coat to emerge. Once the anchor buttons are secured, you can release buttons as you desire to style the coat to work with what you are wearing with the coat, or in whatever what suits your tastes.

No detail is left out. Discreet vents are cut into the shoulder pit. A single vertical line demarcates the imaginary pole around which the coat detailing is arranged to emphasize the asymmetry of the garment. Dividing the collar into two pieces that meet at the back of the neck allows for the garment to twist on an axis without the fabric bulking up at key structural intersections. The result is an asymmetrical design that is falls on the human form sleekly while also fitting comfortably on the body. The design innovations manifest on this coat are what make possible certain optical illusions from both frontal and back views; they also permit this garment to be a practical coat that maybe worn with ease.

Condition: Excellent condition. No visible defects, damage or pilling. The fabric's pre-treatment gives the knit a worn in look.

For sizing reference: I am 5'4", 95 lb, 31-23.5-33. This coat is true to size (and is small than one that I recently sold that was also marked as S.) I typically wear JP XS/SS in Junya/Comme des Garcons post 1996 and this coat/dress fits perfectly on me but would also fit on someone who is larger owing to the adjusting allowable by the amount of twisting in the body desired.

Returns: I don't accept returns. I have described the garment with an unusual level of description so that returns can be avoided. I also invite you to ask all questions before purchasing the item as I don't accept returns unless I've made an egregious error in my listing.
