This is a great general purpose valve for almost any application requiring a high pressure 1-1/2" valve . Like most diaphragm-type valves, this valve requires minimum differential pressure (5 psi) to operate. It is intended to be used in pressurized systems, not in gravity feed systems.
The valve coil is epoxy encapsulated and is water resistant (but may not be submerged).
The coil is rated for continuous duty, which means that the coil temperature will stabilize at a safe level and will not continue to rise indefinitely. As with most continuous duty rated valves, the coil may still get warm or even hot during long activation periods. This is completely normal for most solenoid valves. If your application requires extremely long activation periods, please contact us for additional advise.
Pipe thread sizes can be confusing if you are not familiar with the standard. The table below shows the most common NPT (National Pipe Thread) sizes, their equivalent outer thread diameters, and the number of threads per inch (TPI):
