A personal note about using 100% linen damasks:

I Love antique damasks!  They are among my favorite textiles.   They are wonderful to add simple elegance to any table. 

We always used damasks in my home for special dinners and any occasion for an added touch of elegance. There is simply no match to the tactile experience of feeling these very special luxurious damasks in hand.  Vintage damasks in good condition are better than any linens used in finer restaurants.

Damasks are some of the easiest care pieces of any antique textiles you can own and enjoy using.

Our holidays center around the table and traditional dinners.  A little spill of gravy or wine doesn't cause any worries, it all comes out in the wash.  Damask can go in your washer.  They can stand up to today's cleaning products when needed.  It looks best when pressed, but I've been known to fold them out of the dryer and use them without pressing for elegant but less formal dinners.  When the napkins do get worn, they obtain a second life as kitchen towels. Linen napkins can be used countless times for years and are truly yet another way to "go green".
