Stanley Kubrick Apollo 11 T Shirt

Did we actually go to the moon on July 20 1969, or did the US government and NASA have fake it in order to beat the Soviet Union in the Space Race that started in 1955?

There are conspiracies galore out there and as soon as NASA proclaimed it had landed on the moon the conspiracies came pouring in. This story goes that when 2001: A Space Odyssey was in post-production in early 1968, NASA (knowing that they wouldn’t be able to put a man on the moon after many failed attempts) came to Stanley Kubrick to persuade him to direct the first three Moon landings. A deal was struck between the US government and Kubrick and the films were made.

It is further speculated that Kubrick left a coded confession in his movie The Shining. This was his apology to the world for faking the moon landings.

I know, you think I’m full of it but check out the Apollo 11 sweater Danny Torrance is wearing in the picture below. Coincidence? I think not!

Danny's sweater represents Apollo 11 going to the moon as he walks over to room 237. Now in the Stephen King book version this movie is based on there is no room 237, it is room 217. Why did Kubrick make this change? Because the average distance from the Earth to the Moon is 237,000 miles. If you’ve seen the movie you know that what happens in room 237 doesn’t make any sense and nothing is as it seems. In other words, it isn’t real.

This t shirt is my take on it and the design is based on the 2001: A Space Odyssey Theatrical Poster.
