We specialize in Martin Logan and Carver speaker repairs.

This auction is for the repair of one set of carver ribbons, that is two 60" ribbons, or two 48" ribbons, or four 30" ribbons. We do suggest having all the ribbons done at the same time. There is no discounts if you only have one ribbon done other than the savings on shipping.

This repair is only for the notorious buzz / rattle sound that happens after years of use. We do not replace the original ribbon since the original ribbon is by far the best in terms of sound, correct impedance (necessary for correct operation with the stock xovers) and durability other than loosing its tension over the years. So therefore your ribbons must be in one piece with no visible damage like holes, or tears.

We can replace the ribbons but you need to contact us so we can make a separate auction.

With this auction you get-

Your set of ribbons refurbished to sound like they used to with out the buzz.

1- we first visibly inspect the ribbons after shipment to make sure there was no shipping damage.

2- we then test the ribbons for working condition.

3- we disassemble them in our jigs.

4- inspect the magnets, if we find any loose magnets we reattach them with industrial strength glue made for metal. Then apply glue to all the magnets to keep them put.

5- using our jig we re-tension the kapton ribbons back to factory specs.

6- reassemble the ribbons in our jigs and install new internal dampeners and rear external dampener like the plat 4'S.

7- test the ribbons using our test equipment then an actual listening test.

8- you purchase thru eBay and pay once we are ready to ship the completed speakers back to you.

Like we said the best ribbon is the one Carver installed in the first place. That is why we have found a process to save the original ribbons so you can enjoy your speakers again with out that annoying buzz.

Remember this auction is for ribbons that have no physical damage and the magnets all appear to be in place. Please contact us if you have questions.

When packaging your ribbons for shipping you must pay attention to the corners. Definitely use multiple layers bubble wrap on the corners and do not use just packing peanuts. Use of insurance is highly recommended.

Buyer pays actual shipping cost to us and back. Cost of shipping is usually $80-$100 both ways depending on your location. We are located 49505.

Shipping only to the continental US

Note on the photos the second photo shows a loose kapton, the third photo a re tensioned kapton.
