Mid century vintage Tuareg ring from Niger, West Africa. The ring is made from silver colored mixed metal with an engraved design and a red carnelian stone. These rings were traditionally worn either on the finger or as a hair decoration [see last photo for similar rings being worn in a traditional setting]. The ring is unisex and is a wonderful piece of African history. It is in good condition given its age
and origin. See similar ring on the cover of 'The World of Rings' by Anne van Cutsem.

All items are 100% authentic and have been
previously worn, often in a traditional environment. Every effort has
been made to describe any significant flaws in both words and pictures
in the listings however a certain amount of wear should always be
expected. Handmade items should also be expected to contain
irregularities which I believe adds to their character and does not
detract in any way from their quality.
