Background:
'Rainbow the Chameleon' was born on October 14, 1997. He was not a rainbow hue at all, as described in his hang tag. He was blueish greeen! Before him, 'Iggy the Iguana', born August 12, 1997, was rainbow colored in his first release? But, iguanas are not chameleons. There was a fabric mix-up in the Ty Beanie Bag factories!
In any event, a year later, Rainbow had the correct version of his color. It was corrected the second time around. It appeared in August 1998. Iggy also appeared in his correct blueish green version in August 1998.
Rainbow was retired March 31, 1999. It was announced with a Ty puzzle which had a picture of the sweet chameleon in his erroneous first version coloring. Essentially, he went out as he came in. And, who could blame him? He had made history!
A rare find, this Ty Beanie Baby will only increase in value. This mint condition item was stored, untouched in an air condition box for close to two decades. From its introduction, it was handled with care and rarity. The only sign of wear is a slight crease in the hang tag and faint rubbing. A prized possession to pass on to the next generation.
This would make a wonderful gift! The story behind Rainbow is a unique and whimsical one. How fabulous to own the original and pass the story on. "Well, you see kids, Rainbow was not really a rainbow at all, though his tag boasted a colorful tail..."

Non-payment claim is filed on day 4 if payment is still not
received with no communication from the buyer.
