Watkins WEM Compact ER-15 valve amplifier head & WEM Super Twelve Cab 1x12 Goodmans driver.

Dates to about 1965.

The amp has just been serviced by Rodney Angell. Rodney was an electrical engineer at JMI Dartford, building VOX amps - he was featured on BBC4's tv programme about VOX.

The original design of the ER15 had a design flaw in the situating of components. Rodney has amended the internal mains wiring, so it will be more reliable and have a superior tone. Original circuit diagram and amended diagram will be supplied.

It has its original Mullard valves. (EL84)

C1, C4, C10, C11 & C22 replaced. R15 & R16 replaced. Mains and speaker lead replaced. Pots cleaned and expanded metal grill fitted for safety.

It would originally have had internal bolts that connected the head to the cab. We did not have these, so modern rubber feet fitted.

The WEM Super Twelve cab has a 1x12 Goodmans driver. I don't believe the jack socket and wiring is original, and I'm not too sure about the external padding on the outside of the baffle.

Both cabinets are tatty, see pics, but not falling apart. Rodney thinks the head cab was originally blue / black, possibly painted later.

What does it sound like?....very similar to my '73 Marshall 20 head in pic 9, blended with a bit of AC15.

Perfect for recording, home use and studio.

No deals outside ebay, so please don’t ask.

Thanks for looking.
