We like to test everything we sell and I have already found this to be fantastic for shoveling snow and running my snow blower.   On low in complete darkness its just enough light to see what you are doing so ideal for walking into the woods in hunting season. 

The light is white and the design lights a general area, not a spot light.  My first concern was that the stretch hat would point the light into the sky and not at the ground but impressed -  the light is broad pattern and lights up your immediate area not a beam like many LED lights.  

You have to remove the light to charge but not to difficult, better then to have to keep buying batteries, especially little watch batteries like some of these hats use.
