Sorghum gives ornamental stems about 3 m high, ending in clusters of seeds.
Sorghum has low water requirements, it is a plant which is interesting for its resistance to drought.

Sow in April-May, in sunny and sheltered position, 40 cm apart, in rows 70 cm apart, mound the feet when the plants reach 15 to 20 cm high, watered.
Harvesting of sorghum grains takes place 110 to 140 days after sowing. When ripe, the grains become hard. After harvest, the grains must be dried quickly.

The grain sorghum plant resembles corn. Its deeper root system allows it to better resist drought.
It is a plant 1 to 3 meters high, with a solid cylindrical stem bearing a terminal inflorescence in a compact panicle. This includes spikelets of one or two bisexual flowers.

Sorghum seeds are delicacies for poultry, birds, pigeons, pheasants.
Catnip: mixtures sold in distribution are a mixture of barley seeds and sorghum.
Used for making brooms.
