We made a special purchase on the EK6100J that has a maximum weighing capacity of 6000 grams and increments in 0.1 gram graduations with a 5.2 x 6.7 inch rectangular weighing platform. Some people might ask how do we sell so cheap. We buy in huge volume and as an Authorized A&D Weighing Distributor the manufacturer comes to us to move their excessive inventory. We price the scale at ridiculous low prices to move the scales since it is only a matter of time before our phone rings asking us to buy more overstock.

These are brand new units and a great alternative to the Mettler Toledo JL6001-GE, Ohaus SJX6201NE or Scout SPX6201. We have priced the EK6100J so aggressively that it is cheaper to buy the EK6100J than the EK3000i, EK4100i, and EK6100i.

What is the difference between the EK-6100J verses the EK-6100i? Notice the last character in the model name is "J" verses "i"). The EK-6100i (non-NTEP) while the EK6100J is Legal For Trade. The EK-6100J DOES NOT have a functional RS-232 serial interface so you can not connect the scale to a computer or printer. For some reason when A&D designed the EK-6100J they disabled the serial interface. THERE IS NO WAY TO TRANSMIT THE DATA FROM THE SCALE TO THE COMPUTER SINCE THE RS232 INTERFACE IS NOT ACTIVE. If you are not going to be connecting the scale to a printer or computer then you don't need the serial interface and you can save a barrel of money.

Legal-for-Trade balances typically cost a lot more than "Not Legal for Trade" since extensive testing is required to achieve a Certificate of Conformance 06-054. To attain the covenant status of legal for trade the EK-6100j is tested with several increasing/decreasing load and shift tests and these test occur over a temperature range of 41°F to 95°F. A load of approximately one-half capacity is applied to the EJ6100J over 100,000 times and must weigh with the testing tolerances. 

EK6100J NTEP approved Class II Legal For Trade scale's "d"(value of scale division) is 0.1 grams and the "e" (value of verification scale division) is 1 grams. The balance meets the requirements as a Class II weighing device defined in Handbook 44. All this information can be verified by downloading the CoC # 06-054 so you can printout this certificate to check with your Weights & Measurements Inspector if they will allow you to use the EK6100J for your particular weighing application.
