This item is similar to the other Earhart pieces I'm selling except that the fragment is smaller and the price is lower. This fragment measures about 1/4" x 3/8". (The other Earhart fragments I'm selling are 1/2" x 1/2".
The design of the certificates is somewhat different than the others.
This is a gorgeous 4" x 5 1/4" full color certificate with color photos of Earhart, her Vega 5B airplane, the cockpit of the plane and the tail of the plane with the registration numbers.
Attached to this certificate is an authentic fragment of the red fabric taken from the Vega. This fragment was removed from the plane by the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum many years ago during a renovation.
The fragment is authentic, taken directly from Earhart's plane. It is not a reproduction.
Earhart made history when she flew her Vega 5B nonstop across the Atlantic Ocean on May 20-21, 1932.
