Heat Pump power 23kW

SKE distribution low loss headers (distribution hydraulic balancers) – basic versions

Distribution low loss header (SKE) separates boiler cycle from the heating cycle. SKEs are usually applied in medium or high power rating heating systems (practically, from 25 kW upwards), comprised of one or more boilers, particularly those comprised of several heating cycles (e.g. floor heating cycle + radiator heating cycle + hot utility water heating cycle). Application of a hydraulic unit in these types of cycles eliminates the necessity to balance pump flows – SKE enables independent operation of individual cycles and uninterrupted pump performance (no pump interference). Another important feature is their desilting and venting capability. Moreover, thanks to inserted neodymium magnet separator (SMART), it stops tiny magnetic shards from being spread into the whole system, something which is directly responsible for causing rust and corrosion. Following versions: SKE 40, 40 2D+, 40 3D and 40 2K, protect solid fuel boilers from too low return water temperature, variants SKE 55 2DC and 3DC, on the other hand, improve condensing gas boilers and heat pumps efficiency.

Distribution Low-Loss Header also known as Hydraulic balancer serves for separation of boiler’s circulation from heating’s one. This particular product acts as a low loss header with manifold function. It is used for medium and high power systems (powers from 40kW – appropriate for average house), containing one or more boilers, especially when there are heating circuits (e.g. for floor heating, radiator heating, and hot utility water). In such cases hydraulic balancer eliminates the need to balance pump flows separately - hydraulic balancer separates flows and makes them operate independently from each other (pumps’ work is undisturbed). As a consequence of desilter and air vent being part of balancer’s construction – two additional and quite valuable functions can be also performed. Finally hydraulic balancer protects boiler from low temperature of returning water (low temperature corrosion). Our distribution low loss header can be installed in all directions according to installer's individual requirements.

There are three basic modes of balancer’s operation:

Installation's requirement for heat = heat produced by boiler;
Installation's requirement for heat < heat produced by boiler (thermostatic valves on radiators are closed) – in such case part of heat returns from hydraulic balancer and "informs" boiler to decrease power or switch off;
Installation's requirement for heat > heat produced by boiler – in such case suction from pumps is increased "informing" boiler through balancer to increase power.
