I am offering this really nice Rivarossi R5454 HO scale Allegheny 2-6-6-6 Chesapeake & Ohio #1633 steam locomotive and 14 wheel tender equipped with DCC and Sounds.  I have the original box in EX condition, the protective plastic case for the engine, the protective foam padding for all the contents, an optional long cab (for true scale accuracy), 2 bags of detail parts, an ownership certificate, and 4 booklets of instructions and other information.

I obtained this loco at a train collector estate auction.  The original owner apparently installed the decoder and sound after purchase (see detail information in picture).  I do not have a layout and I am not equipped for DCC testing, so I did not test the loco.  The MRC Decoder instructions specifically states to “never run the installed decoder on your layout without first passing the test” (test specified in the next paragraph of instructions).  There is apparently mixed thoughts about running DCC on DC track, depending on the manufacturer.

I did not remove the engine since I am not testing it.  It is firmly packed away in its case.  I did remove the tender, primarily to inspect the wheels for rail marks (see picture close-up.  They show a little rail time.

I noticed a wire coming out of the top of the tender with a tiny box (?) at the end and attached to the tender (see detail picture).  There is also a rectangular shaped cover at the top rear that pops off easily (see picture).  The 10 holes in the coal load look like they may have been drilled out by the owner (see picture).  An HO hobbyist acquaintance tells me that all these things indicate that DCC & Sound is installed.

This is a finely detailed loco.  It will make a great addition to your layout or collection.
