The 'radical' art referred to here is currently described as 'ideal art', 'analytic art', or 'conceptual art'. This last term, 'conceptual art', has taken on a wider meaning in the past few months to occasionally include that which, in the scope of this exhibition, I would limit consideration of as work with a 'conceptual aspect'. The art chosen for this exhibition is work that, at its most materialistic extreme, is the most 'conceptual' of work often categorized as 'anti-form', 'earthworks', 'arte povera' and so on. On the other end of the spectrum is the 'radical' art previously mentioned and obviously, the area between the two extremes is filled as well". Donald Karshan.
