1850’s map of Newcastle Upon Tyne by John Tallis

This is a copy of the map of Newcastle Upon Tyne by John Tallis and was initially printed between 1851 and 1855.  It was also taken carefully a book of maps which was printed in 1993.  The map has been printed in colour on good quality paper and measures 32cm x 24cm.  As it has been taken from a book there is the description of a different map on the rear of the page but I have photocopied the description of this map and this will be sent to you.

John Tallis produced a series of town plans of British cities and were published between 1851 and 1855.  These maps were the last set of visually decorative maps of the world and Tallis endeavoured to fill his maps with small vignettes depicting local people, buildings, bridges and other landmarks pertinent to each area.

The map will be sent in a cardboard backed envelope to avoid any damage in transit.  I have lots of other maps for sale and if you wish to buy more than one I will combine postage prices so that the postage won't be any extra.

Please ask if you have any questions or want more information.
