A historic retro art print of a Saturday Night at the
Sky View Drive-in Movie theater watching the historic Boxing Fights between Rocky Marciano and Roland La Starza from a watercolor painting by
William B. MacGregor Jr. who is known in the New England area as the Junkyard and Nostalgia Artist.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

A Saturday night in Brockton Mass at the Sky View Drive-in Movie theater watching the famous historic boxing fights between Rocky Marciano and Roland La Starza (Circa 1950 and 1953).  Rocky Marciano was a professional boxer from Brockton and competed from 1947 to 1955. He was the world heavy weight champion from 1952-1956. And the only boxer to retire as a heavy weight champion.  Roland La Starza was an American boxer and actor and fought from 1947-1961 winning 57 out of 66 fights.  He came closer than any other boxer trying to defeat  Rocky Marciano.  Later be became a television and movie actor staring as a tough guy and had a regular role in the WW2 show the gallant men.  Also, guest appearances on 77 Sunset Strip, the wild wild west, Perry Mason and Batman and the movies the outfit and point blank. The Sky View theater was a drive-in movie for approx. 800 cars in Brockton MA near the West Bridgewater town line.  Unfortunally the theater no longer exists and now part of Brockton history as shown in my watercolor painting.
