The year 2005 was the bicentennial of the Battle of Trafalgar, and the Royal Navy led Trafalgar 200 celebrations. The 2005 International Fleet Review held off Spithead in the Solent on 28 June was the first since 1999 and the largest since Her Majesty The Queen's 1977 Silver Jubilee.

The evening Son et Lumiere captures the drama, humanity and courage displayed at the Battle of Trafalgar and ends with one of the largest firework displays ever seen.

 

The International Drumhead Ceremony

At the International Drumhead Ceremony, naval veterans and young people gather to honour the fallen.  In a moving blend of music, pageantry and personal recollections, the ceremony recognises the dieication of all naval personnel and, through youth, celebrates the future.
