The rack is solid Appalachian White Oak thats nearly 1" thick. It is solid White Oak, not plywood or laminated wood and its as solid as the day is long... It has a blind nailed, lap edge construction. All mating surfaces are joined with waterproof glue. So if you happen to use part of it as a shelf its good to go. It's got good thick separators that won't break off with normal use. It comes unfinished so you can stain, paint, seal it as you see fit.  It also comes to you ready to mount.... with screws, drywall anchors, plug buttons and black adhesive back felt strips for the barrel pockets to apply after finishing. This rack holds 8 but we can also make one to hold as many guns as you need to fit your specific requirements. The 2nd pic in the listing  is for a 5 gun rack. This one is just like it but holds 8 guns.
