An watercolor on board titled Chimney and Ventilator by listed Ohio artist Robert Herrmann (1922 – 1996), created in 1958. The painting depicts the top of a building rendered in primary colors. It is signed, titled, and dated to the verso. Presented in white matting and wrapped in acetate.

Herrmann acquired his formal artistic and architectural training at the University of Cincinnati, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, University of Iowa, and Columbia University. While professionally trained, he chose to never exhibit his work publicly, making his first solo exhibit posthumous. He is known for his precisionist style and his paintings of architectural landscapes.
