IN issuing the Glasgow Post-Office Directory for 1903-1904, the Publishers beg to
express their thanks for the liberal patronage bestowed on the work during the long
period of Seventy-Five years, and desire to state that as formerly no effort has been
spared to render it as accurate and complete as possible. They, however, do not
hold themselves responsible for any error or omission.
The Almanac, Tide Tables, Banks, &c, Statistics of the Population of
the City and Suburbs, the Parliamentary and Municipal Voters for 1901-1902,
with the Parliamentary Divisions of the City and Members of Parliament, also
the Voters on Electoral Roll for School Board, and the Rental of Glasgow for 1902,
with a description of the revised Municipal Wards, will be found in their former
positions. To these have been added a list of the Conveners and Secretaries of the
various Ward Committees. In the Streets Directory (pages 683 to 990) the number
affixed to the name of each street indicates the Municipal Ward in which such street
is situated for electoral purposes. The numbers have been corrected in accordance
with the new arrangement of the city wards. At pages 1 to 30 an Alphabetical List
of Streets is given; as a handy guide to their situation the capital and small letters
prefixed to each Street.
The various Suburban Districts around the City are given, as formerly, revised
and corrected The Burghs of Govan, Kinning Park, and Partick are incorporated
with the General Directory.
In the Appendix will be found useful details regarding Postal and Telegraph
arrangements, together with Local and General Intelligence; and the Publishers beg
to thank the gentlemen connected with the various Institutions and Public Offices
for supplying much useful information.
The printing has this year again been done by Messrs. Aird & Coghill,
24 Douglas Street, under the superintendence of Mr. Hugh Young, and the
binding by Messrs. Gowans & Gray, 58 Cadogan Street.

FAQ's How long will it before my order is posted? All orders are processed within 3 working days of receipt of payment. In reality, if an order & payment is received before mid-day (U.K.), Mon-Fri then in most cases your order will be posted the same day. When will I receive my order? In the U.K. all orders are sent First Class - in most cases this means next day delivery. If you have not received your order within 7 days - please contact us. Outside the U.K. orders are posted Airmail Small Packet Rate. According to the Post Office they aim to deliver to Europe within 3 working days, Worldwide within 5 days. Depending on destination, please allow up to 10-14 days before contacting us if your order hasn't arrived. How is my order packed? Single CD/*DOWNLOAD ONLY*orders packed in a protective padded envelope, multi orders are packed in a special tough cardboard mailer. Can we do look-ups from your CD's? In line with other publishers of similar material, we have no problem with people helping others by providing information from our books to "answer a specific query" - it is courteous to acknowledge that you have used one of our CD's and good practice to quote the source of the information. We do not however, authorize advertising of blanket look up offers, as this hits our sales and therefore the funds for obtaining new material. Faulty CD or DVD's - what do I do? We use a reliable branded make of CD-R and since we started have had only the occasional faulty CD. This happens with mass produced media and now and then one slips through our checking process. We have a policy of replacing any faulty media at no charge whatsoever to the customer. |
