BIO: Robert O’Neill Seal Team Six 1995-2012 who on May 2nd, 2011 one of twenty-four Navy Seal Team Six member who took part in the Operation Neptune Spear Mission in Abbottabad, Pakistan that successfully killed Osama bin Laden. During the mission Matt Bissonnette was the first Navy Seal to enter the room that Osama was in on the third floor with Robert O’Neill directly behind him. Matt Bissonnette tackled Osama’s two wives in the room fearing they were wearing suicide vests. Then Robert O’Neill fired a double tape hitting Osama in the chest and head killing him. Robert O’Neill received the Silver Star (3rd highest military decoration) for his actions during the mission.
In additional to the mission that he fired the shots that killed Osama bin Laden during his 17 years as a Navy Seal with Seal Team Six Robert O’Neill played a key role in the mission to saved Captain Richard Phillips (which was later made into a film starring Tom Hanks). Robert O’Neill was one of the Navy Seals who boarded the lifeboat that eliminating three of the Somali pirates and saved Captain Richard Phillips life. Robert O’Neill also played a part in mission that recused fellow Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell in the village of Sabray, Afghanistan on July 5th, 2005. Robert O’Neill is a recipient of 2 Silver Stars (third highest military decoration), 4 Bronze Stars (fourth highest military decoration), Joint Service Commendation Medal with Valor, Navy and Marine Corps Medal, and 3 Presidential Unit Citation.
