2018 - 2019 FIS RACE SUIT RULES:
Customarily is has been the responsibility of the athlete to send their race suit to a National Association to test for porosity and FIS compliance. A little metal tag called a “plomb” was attached to the leg of the suit after passing the test. A new marking method will now be used in the form of a printed logo on the back of the leg of approved suits. Beginning this 2018-19 FIS race season ALL suits must have a FIS logo printed on the back of the left leg. Race suits with a plomb will no longer be acceptable at FIS races.
PLEASE NOTE: Certified suits are only required at the Olympics, World Championships, World Cup, Continental Cups (including NorAm Cup) and World Junior Championships. Certified suits are NOT required at any national level (non-FIS) competition, and are not required for FIS, ENL or FIS-U racing.
