Vintage handmade indigo sitch dyed cloth from the Mossi tribe of Burkina Faso in West Africa. The textile is medium weight and would make an excellent shawl or throw. The textile has been hand woven from raw, unprocessed cotton in 9" (23cm) super wide strips which are hand sewn together to form one large cloth. Traditionally worn as a wrapper, these cloths all unique in shade, size and wear.

The textile is 58" (147cm) wide x 59" (150cm) long. It is in several shades of dark navy to faded indigo blue and white colored cotton. Two holes have been patched (one on the front one on the back) and one hole has been darned, there is some minor staining in one corner [see photos]. The textile is tightly woven from raw, unprocessed cotton. It is in good condition given its age and origins and has a lovely hand feel. The last photo show a styling idea, not the textile listed for sale.

I recommend had washing separately in cold water with mild soap. It has already been washed and can be used immediately. I have more vintage African indigo textiles so please see my store for other designs. Combined shipping available on all textiles. Please ask any questions prior to purchase. Thank you!

All items are 100% authentic and vintage items will have been previously worn, often in a traditional environment. Every effort has been made to describe any flaws in both words and pictures in the listings however a certain amount of wear should always be expected. Handmade items should also be expected to contain irregularities which I believe adds to their character and does not detract in any way from their quality.
