"Heimish:" "The Hymish" means "my home") was a monthly journal in
Yiddish for literature, criticism and social issues. The publisher and
editor of the newspaper was the writer and journalist Moshe Grossman.
The first issue of "Haymish" was published in Israel in June 1956
and the last in September 1961, with the death of the editor. A total of
sixty-six issues were edited and published by Grossman. After his
death, were published three additional double editions of the "Haemish"
by his wife Rosa (Rachel) and professional editors, and has since ceased
to appear.
"Haemish" was distributed in Israel and the Diaspora, and aroused
curiosity and interest. The journal was a place where free expression
was possible in literary and social issues, as well as a place for
publishing poems, stories and critical articles by intellectuals,
literature and society
