Rare souvenir booklet: THE OREGON GUIDE TO CENTENNIAL EVENTS, Vol. 1 #1, 1959, published by O'Hara Enterprises; there was never a second issue. Sturdy stapled wraps, 38 pages, illustrated with b&w photos and maps. Measures 8.5x11 inches. Strangely this is very scarce, I can't find any others available online, nor any mentioned in completed-auction listings. Wagon train art on the cover, many special events throughout the state and the year, recreation and vacation info, historical essays, highlights of several cities and towns, and maps. On the back is an illustrated ad for Hersh Dunham's Western Oldsmobile Headquarters, with dealership showroom photo.

Condition is VG++ (cover has a long but light wrinkle, tiny rubbed mark at corner, tight staples, clean pages, light stains to back cover corners).

(Vintage & Rare Books, Paper, Ephemera, Travel, History, West, Western Americana, Oregon Trail, Statehood, Celebration, Advertising, Tourism, 1950's, Memorabilia, Collectible)
