Vostok watches began to be produced at the factory in 1942 (the beginning of World War 2). In the period from 1941, November, to February, 1942, 170 railway cars of the equipment of the Second Moscow Watch Factory were transported from Moscow to Kazan, and then transported by barges to Chistopol. After the end of the season of navigation, the machines were driven on horses along the ice road across the Kama River. Together with the equipment of the Moscow Watch Factory, 488 specialists arrived in Chistopol from Moscow. But there were not enough employees, and 14–15 year olds worked on a par with adults. During World War II, the plant produced tank watches, fuses for anti-tank grenades, fuel consumption devices on aircraft, technical units for torpedoes, and recorders for the hydrometeorological service.

During this period, the legendary watch mechanics were tested by water, fire, and altitude in the conditions of military army service. Since 1965, East is the official supplier of watches for the Ministry of Defense of the USSR. This is the most respected watch among soldiers, sailors and pilots of the USSR Armed Forces.
