Ex-con Jake Martel is just getting to know his father Magnus when the old man is killed in mysterious circumstances. Eager to understand what happened, Jake teams up with alchemy student Mira and they decode a message from Magnus which leads them to some church catacombs on a small Greek island. There they discover a small box known as the 'loculus', which contains sacred artefacts essential to the realisation of the great cataclysms foretold in the Book of Revelation. Recognising the significance of the objects they hold in their hands, Jake and Mira prepare for their part in the Apocalypse.
