Replica M1936 Pistol Belt with Brass Metal Work by Combat Serviceable

US Army M1936 pistol belt with brass buckle and fittings.

This is the early war pistol belt with a brass belt buckle and brass eyelets, later in WW2 there was a complete change to using steel or alloy as brass was needed for more important things. The change over from brass to steel was mid war, about 1942.

Although the webbing belts with the brass buckles where stopped from being made in 1942 the ones made before then where still being issued and used at the end of the war. These equipment belts with brass hardware make for a smarter looking belt than the later war versions with the black fittings.

The M1936 pistol belt was the standard webbing belt used by the US Army in WW2.

It was used by officers and any solider not armed with the Garand rifle or the B.A.R. as they had there own special belts to carry ammunition. The M1936 pistol belt was used by all Branches of Service in the US Army including Infantry, Paratroopers, Armoured and M.P.'s. The M36 webbing belts fits Colt 45 ammunition pouches, M1 carbine ammunition pouches and was used to carry Thompson magazine pouches and the airborne rigger pouches.

The belt is adjustable and available in two sizes. Measurements are the actual belt lengths, you will need to allow extra length to allow the belt to be worn over jackets etc.

The US M36 webbing pistol belt by Combat Serviceable features:

As a rough guide the Regular belt generally fits up to a 40" waist and the Large fits up to a 60" waist, this depends on how much clothing you are wearing though. To check your size wear your uniform then measure around your body where you want to wear the belt and order the belt size accordingly.
