These cuff links are a family piece - owned by my grandfather who opened his renowned fine jewelry store in 1920 . He was a respected wholesale / retail jeweler for many decades, the largest in the area , until his passing in 1952, pretty well dating these cuff links. Only the finest was good enough for a jeweler of his stature and LeCoultre measured up then as it still does today. LeCoultre watches rank with the most exclusive , in a class with Rolex, and sell for thousands of dollars new as you probably know or can easily verify. As a testament to the quality , the watch indeed still runs , though I recommend a tune up. These cufflinks have been carefully stored since 1953 and are a rare find for the discerning collector whom you THINK has everything. �

. Surface scratches are present , consistent with age , and can be polished out if so desired; the same applies to the monogram.

The weight is a substantial 17.6g though some part of that is , obviously, the watch mechanism itself. The value is in the rarity and the brand.
