Originally this model with the retaining strap was issued to mounted troops but as the War progressed it became the standard issue to all German units including the Army and SS when it was ordered to be issued to all troops to help stop bayonets being lost. This model was replaced latter in WW2 by a Canvas model.

 Fabrik Adler Berg  (FAB) manufacture  a range of clothing and equipment for the German WW2 re-enactor which will see the user through many years of service on and off the re-enactment battlefield.
