This is a Rare Antique Old Nathaniel Jaquith of 98 Broadway New York City Daguerreotype Frame with picture.

The picture is of a man and woman, but it may be a tintype, not a daguerreotype because the image doesn't show as a "negative" from different angles.  It's definitely antique however.

The frame mat is stamped "Jaquith 98 B Way".

The frame is complete and made of embossed leather (I think) and when I carefully removed the picture, the back of the picture says it was "Rehoused 12/89" (1989).

The frame is in really good condition, including its felt pillow interior. The hinge is intact as well.

It measures about 3 1/8" by 3 5/8", and has both its brass latches intact.  The photo image itself measures roughly 2 1/4 by 2 a little under 2 3/4" (sight size).

Here's what I was able to find on the internet about Nathaniel Jaquith:

Jaquith, 98 Broadway, New York, New York. Daguerreotypist Nathaniel Crosby Jaquith was born April 30, 1816, and died June 24, 1879.. He was located at this address from 1848 to 1857. His name and address are imprinted in the brass mat.

A super and rare Jaquith Daguerrotype frame with old image!  A great display piece!
