Chideno Organic Premium Matcha Grade A

After the craze began, and the science behind Matcha proved itself as a power drink, many suppliers tried to find less expensive product coming mostly out of China, the neighbour of the Matcha superpower, Japan. Matcha quality however, much like Persian Saffron really does depend on the soil quality and the history behind it in beautiful Japan. Many health benefits are attributed to Matcha, but we do propose following these up and leaving it to science as published in vetted journals.

There are many accounts on the origins of this green tea powder, but most agree it is owed to the travels of a monk who studied for many years in China and whom introduced green tea and brought seeds to his home country sometime in the 12th century. Tea had been introduced to Japan beforehand, however, mostly in cubic brick form and never in powder. The monk however decided to plant the seeds in shade in the monastery he was in and this led to specific conditions which when pulverized into powder form which we know today.

The Chideno matcha is a certified Organic Matcha, cultivated, processed and packaged in Japan in Uji and is some of the highest quality in the market. It took us some time to be able to find the perfect product we trusted our brand name on. Matcha comes in various grades, in general quality is always determined of course by the cultivation method (ours is organic), colour is in fact a great determinant prior taste, as brighter powder matcha tends to be a first sign of higher quality matcha. As matcha is a very important product culturally in Japan as well as for their exports, the Japanese organic authority has stringent rules and guidelines for providin certification such as those the Chideno Matcha has obtained.

Our Premium Organic matcha comes in 30 Grams tin cans with an easy open seal, and is of the highest Grade A standard. While there are cheaper Chinese alternatives on the market, cultivation method of the Japanese in Sencha and Matcha is not easily replicated.
