Please read our camera/camcorder
policy below which includes advice for buying a used camera/camcorder from us so
that we can better your buying experience and minimize our returns.
We buy cameras in bulk and sell them at a
substantially discounted price when compared to the same or similar model
taking into consideration accessories, if any, that are included with a sale. If any accessories are included with THIS
camera/camcorder, an itemized list of the accessories included with THIS sale
are described in our “Seller Notes” for this listing. If we list a
camera/camcorder with no accessories or limited accessories, it is reflected in
the listing price accordingly which again is a substantially discounted price. If an accessory is NOT listed in our “Seller
Notes” then it is NOT included with this sale and you should budget accordingly
for any accessories you will want to use that are not included. Accessories are (among others): wrist strap
or shoulder strap, battery, battery charger, AC adapter, video cable, transfer
cable, memory card or other media (MiniDV tapes, VHS-C tapes, MiniDVDs, CDs or
Film), manual/instructions, software disk, camera bag or an original box. Items that are sold as “Open Box” should have
all the original accessories that were included when purchased new, unless
noted.
RETURNS
(ALL CAMERAS/CAMCORDERS): If for any reason
OTHER than a used battery not working, your camera/camcorder does not take photos/video,
play/record/fast-forward/rewind (if it is supposed to do so) and you want to
return it, set up a return and we will retest it upon receiving it back and let
you know if there is any issue that was OUR responsibility and if we are at
fault, you will be given a full refund.
Otherwise, YOU are responsible for return and original shipping charges
and 20-50% of the item price to cover our costs and time. We will NOT accept responsibility for
original and return shipping charges because you neglected to read or misread
our “Seller Notes” or policy or because you thought an accessory would be
included even though it was not described in the “Seller Notes”. If you set up a return for “Not As Described”
due to what you feel is a missing accessory not mentioned in the “Seller Notes”,
we will not accept the return or, if we do, we will deduct the original and
return shipping costs as well as 20-50% of the item price to cover our costs
and time once your return is received back after it has been retested. We DO NOT OFFER FREE RETURNS just to give you
time to use our device and/or return our device after you have watched or
transferred your old media. We also do
not accept returns for cosmetic reasons as the cosmetic condition of
cameras/camcorders is both described and shown in our listing photos.
COSMETIC CONDITION DESCRIBED: EXCELLENT
= has extremely minimal if any visible wear on the exterior. VERY
GOOD = has some visible but usually minor wear such as scuffs or
scratches on the exterior. GOOD = has some obvious but
common visible wear such as scuffs, scratches, scrapes or minor dents on the
exterior. FAIR = has a large amount of obvious wear such as scuffs,
scratches, scrapes or minor dents on the exterior.
DIGITAL
CAMERA/CAMCORDER BUYERS: If you are buying a
used camera/camcorder from us, in all likelihood, if a proprietary battery
is included, that battery is used and we therefore cannot guarantee battery
life or how long it holds a charge. If
your expectation is, if a battery is included, that an included battery will
hold a charge for a long period of time and it doesn’t do so, we will NOT be
sending you a replacement battery and therefore you should budget for that
purchase separately in case it does not meet your expectation. Cameras that
require non-proprietary batteries such as AA, AAA, CRV3 or 3V batteries are NOT
included with the sale.
We test EVERY camera/camcorder for functionality
(i.e. take a photo, record video, test fast-forward, test rewind, and test playback)
and charge the battery (if included) to confirm it charges fully and if it does
not charge fully and we include it the sale then we describe that it doesn’t
charge fully in the “Seller Notes”.
Expect that if a battery is included and it is not otherwise noted, that
it charges fully, however, we have no idea how long it holds a charge. How long a battery “holds” a charge will
depend on how used/old the battery is and since we buy in bulk we have no
history on the battery. IF YOU OPEN A
RETURN FOR A USED BATTERY RELATED ISSUE, WE WILL NOT ACCEPT THE RETURN. Used batteries do not function like new.
Unless this listing includes a NEW battery, if this camera/camcorder includes a
used battery we are only including it because it charged for us fully. Our advice is to plan to purchase a
replacement battery separately and our cheap price being offered gives you
plenty of room in value to make that purchase separately (we do not sell NEW
accessories). That same philosophy goes for
any other accessory you may have to purchase that may not be included in this
sale such as a video cable to connect to a computer or TV. If a video/transfer cable is NOT included and
if it is your plan to connect this camera/camcorder to another device, budget
to purchase that accessory separately. All
cameras/camcorders are tested and working prior to posting them for sale. We DO NOT guarantee used batteries.
With some cameras/camcorders, in the time since
they were purchased new, previous owner(s) may have already replaced the
proprietary battery and/or charger with a generic battery/charger because over
time batteries/chargers become less reliable.
When we test cameras/camcorders prior to listing them, we use the exact
accessory that you will be receiving (i.e. the generic charger if it’s generic)
to charge the battery to ensure that both camera/camcorder and battery
combination work together if they are included.
We cannot take responsibility if you order/use the wrong accessory type
such as a wrong battery for your camera/camcorder that you have purchased. Please be careful that if and when you order accessories,
you order accessories for your specific camera/camcorder make and model. You cannot expect us to incur original and
return shipping costs for returns when an accessory you purchased (including
batteries) does not work.
FILM CAMERA
BUYERS: If you are buying a used film camera (with or
without a lens) from us, we do not include a battery since those batteries
are typically not proprietary and can easily be purchased for cheap separately. Film camera buyers should budget for a
battery purchase separately. We test every
film camera for shutter, flash, meter and lens function (if applicable) ONLY and
we do so without film. We will only
accept a return if the shutter, flash, meter or lens is not working unless we
stated it wasn’t in the “Seller Notes”.
MiniDV /
Compact VHS (VHS-C) BUYERS: If you are buying a
used MiniDV or VHS-C camcorder and are trying to use an old MiniDV / VHS-C
tape, your old tapes frequently deteriorate over time and may not
play/record/fast-forward/rewind like a new tape and if used in our camcorder
can cause damage internally to the camcorder you are buying from us. If you stick an old tape in our camcorder
sold to you by us and your tape is not working correctly and afterwards then
try to return our camcorder because your tape(s) did not work properly for you,
YOU will be responsible for the return shipping and original shipping costs
plus 20-50% of the item price to cover our costs and time. We retest ALL returns with new tapes (in the
same way we test prior to posting) and if there is any issue with the device
that we feel you should not be responsible for then we will refund your
shipping charges and item price back to you.
