My contractor used this tape to wrap the ductless mini split AC system pipe. The pipe runs on top of the roof. After less than 4 months from installation, the thin tape is broken all over the places. Not sure if the contractor installed properly or the tape itself is too weak. Especially under the California sun, the tape surface can get very hot even in the end of September. To me those broken ares seem to be caused by over heat, the plastic just melted. If Nashua offers the same tape in white color, it might be ok under the sun.

Received the 1.89 IN. X 35 YD. HVAC LINE SET TAPE IN BLACK about 3 weeks ago. I used it to wrap around the rubber foam on the outside air conditioner unit and also wrapped it around the pvc lines for the sprinklers. It now has been on there for almost three weeks and it is sticking great, with this Florida sun, tape sometimes has a hard staying place. I would recommend this product.

I received the Nashua 1.89 in. x 35 yd. HVAC tape in black tape and was impressed on how easy it would apply to the foam or rubber insulation. As with any thin tape, you have to be careful when unrolling the first two rolls or so. My role split at the onset, but after getting past the first rotation, it worked fine for me.

Just applied the tape at 40*F, it was quite flexible and sticky. I have seen black electric tape and even gray duck tape applied to exterior A/C units. This stuff seems to be the real deal. I was a bit uncertain when I first unwrapped the tape and started to unfurl it as it split. The dreaded split - hoped it wouldn't continue. Once I got it back into a single piece only about 3" to do that (not too bad), it was perfect the rest of the roll. Even tried to split it with several bad cuts. Nope; it stayed together. It was easy to work with: short pieces, mid-length, or off the roll. It's sticky, but not so sticky that if I got it on my hands my hands weren't a mess and the tape still worked. To me, that's a usable product. After two exterior units with 4-foot run outs, and a few other touch ups, there is still quite a bit on the roll. Good stuff all around.

The tape is not as I expected to be especially for UV and outdoor rated. The tape is very thin similar to regular packing or box tape. Very sticky but also difficult to use specially in corners and tight spaces. I am waiting to see if it will hold the Las Vegas heat will update comments then. I have use plumbing tape before before which is thick and feels like it is providing good protection to the pipes but not too much on this tape. Otherwise not too bad I guess as an alternative.
