Programming Instructions: This purchase is only intended for Sync 2 (MyFordTouch) to Sync 3 conversions with the 8" display. We charge an additional $59 for orders intended for 4" to 8" conversions. Please include your vehicles VIN in the checkout notes or send it to us via message. If we do not recieve your VIN within 12 hours after purchase we may cancel your order.
Hardware: You will recieve hardware from a 2017 or 2018 vehicle, we do not use hardware from 2016 vehicles which have known reliability issues. The screen type for this listing is STANDARD which will not work on some vehicles. Please see the fitment section below to check compatibility. Every module will be updated to software version 3.4 with 2020 maps unless specifically asked to keep it at version 3.0

Typical Applications

Sync 2 to Sync 3 Conversions: These conversions are extremely easy to accomplish, even for a mechanical novice. We make them very straight forward, to the point you where you just need to swap the hardware out and you're done. You will need a screen and APIM bundle (this listing - check screen compatibility) and one of our conversion kits which include everything you need to change out your USB hub for one that is Apple CarPlay and Andorid Auto compatible and they also include a new replacement GPS antenna. Your exisiting GPS antenna is unfortunately not compatible. Your infotainment system will come pre-programmed.
4" to 8" Conversions: These conversions are more work but still completely fine to do. These conversions require quite a few more parts to complete; they typically require a new 8" HVAC bezel, conversion harness, screen brackets, USB hub, GPS antenna and USB extension cable. Depending on your vehicle you may require more/less parts. We do not stock all of the parts needed for these conversions, you would have to source them from other vendors. This all is more work but typically you will save money compared to the convenient pre-built kits. SimplyMichigan has started stocking some complete pre-built conversion kits for certain vehicles.
Complete Screen/APIM Replacements: Typically you wouldn't need to replace both the APIM and the display at the same time, if you're experiencing a black screen it's likely you will just need a APIM replacement. We do have APIM replacements available for sale in a different listing. If you do need an entire replacement, this listing (check screen compatibility) is all you would need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this including programming? Yes, VIN programming is included with the sale of the hardware. There's a $59 charge for 4" to 8" conversions.
Can you ship to my country and change the map region? We use eBay Global Shipping for all international shipping (extra fees apply), we can change the maps to any region besides the EU (NA APIM modules do not have enough memory for EU maps). For this region we recommend purchasing a non-navigation infotainment system. If you're determined to get a navigation system, you can use a 3rd party tool to only install the maps you need.
Are there any issues with steering wheel controls or the back up camera? No, none of those will be effected.
Do non-navigation systems still need a replacement GPS antenna? Yes, non-navigation systems still use the GPS for compass control.
Are there any issues converting Lincoln vehicles? With some older Lincoln vehicles you may have to trim your stock screen brackets to clear the repositioned yellow screen connector.
Do you sell modules from 2016? We don't offer APIM's from 2016 donor vehicles; the 4 biggest APIM model numbers that you typically see are GXXX-14G370-BM, GXXX-14G370-BL, GXXX-14G370-CM and GXXX-14G370-CL. These are generation1 modules and have a higher failure rate that Ford is aware of and fixed in later generations. So far, we're the only seller on eBay that will disclose this to you
Will upgrading to Sync 3 effect my SiriusXM subscription? No, your XM subscrption is managed by your ACM and is not effected.
Do I really need a new dislay? Mine is perfect Yes, older screens use a different technology and a totally different connector.
My vehicle has an instrument cluster display in the dash (on the sides of the speedometer) of the vehicle which displays road names, speed limits, etc. Will this feature be retained when upgrading to Sync 3? Unfortunately there are some incompatibilities with Sync 3 and these instrument cluster displays. Depending on your vehicle and the firmware version for these displays you may lose these features and only a compass will be displayed (or this information may only be present when you have an active navigational destination set).

Chinese Counterfiets

Beware of APIM modules coming from Overseas/China and in the USA. eBay is currently FLOODED with cheap counterfiet modules from China that have fake reprinted stickers or are missing stickers all together. Some modules look fine but upon further inspection aren't correct at all. If you're curious about this we included some photos in the listing for things to look out for.

For the warranty to be valid all screen and/or APIM tampering evident seals must be intact and unaltered. Hardware will be inspected for accidental damage ('accidental damage' is damage that occurs as a result of a sudden, unexpected and unforeseen event that causes visible damage by yourself, guests or animals) before the warranty will be fulfilled

International shipping available via eBay's Global Shipping Program, extra fees apply. All orders over $150 will be shipped with signature confirmation to ensure your merchandise arrives safely
Returns	Free 30 day domestic returns, return shipping for international customers is buyers responsibility. Items must be returned in the same condition as you received it. All tamper evident seals must not altered or removed. Item will be inspected upon arrival and fees may be taken from the return if the unit was damaged.
