Remarkable condition considering its age.   This is a Canadian military Gillette Khaki Set that was manufactured in Canada between 1938 and 1945.   It comes with a cardboard box containing 1 unused Gillette Thin Blade still in its original wrapper.  Also included is the original steel shaving field mirror and the original case.   The case is mechanically sound but shows some wear and fraying of the cloth cover.  The outside of the case shows some decades old water staining.

The razor is in beautiful shape and shows almost no scratches and no wear to the chrome plating. The Razor is of the solid bar type and is marked PAT. CANADA   1932   GILLETTE logo   MADE IN CANADA.  Often the handle near the collar shows cracking in these razors but this one shows no cracking under magnification.

This is a quite rare item.  Most of these Khaki Sets were made in the USA for the American armed forces.  By contrast fewer than one million Canadians served in the military during the war but as a proportion of the total Canadian population of 11 million that is a staggering percentage.

Marvelous estate sale find from the home of a Canadian veteran of WWII.  Would make a great addition to your collection.
