The above photo shows the interior of the NAG1 Pan. PML design this pan to work with the stock filter. The Mercedes part number on the filter PML used during design and development is 140 277 00 95. There are filter supports cast into the pan to hold the filter in place at the same level as the stock pan. The filter supports eliminate the need for an extension. This pan has three locations that can be machined for a temperature sending unit. One location is on the driver's side and two are one the passenger's side of the pan. These locations are circular bosses and can accommodate between 1/8 NPT and 1/2 NPT. PML can drill and tap the hole to order for a $65 machining charge. Dipstick and Transmission Fluid Level The fluid level should be at the same level in the stock pan and a PML pan. On many vehicles, the dipstick uses the bottom of the pan as a stop. PML pans have a ledge where the dipstick hits at the same level as the stock pan even though the PML pan is larger overall. In the above images of the inside of the pan, you can see the square ledge near the filter supports. Many vehicles with these transmissions do not have a dipstick and the correct fluid level is based on temperature. The cap for the transmission fluid fill and level check can say "See Dealer." The installer of a replacement pan needs to have the correct tools to replace the transmission fluid according to the factory instructions. We do not provide a dipstick.  In the above photo you can see the customs made gasket for the NAG1/722.6 Deep Pan. PML makes a cork composite gasket for PML NAG1/722.6 transmission pans. One PML gasket is included with each transmission pan. Additional gaskets are $25.00. PML NAG1/722.6 pans are not compatible with the stock gaskets. The PML gasket is not compatible with the stock pan. RTV can be used in place of the gasket but the pan is designed to work with the gasket.  Above you can see a side-by-side comparison of the Deep Pan with the stock pan.

PML products carry a lifetime limited manufacturer's warranty. Our products have proven to be trouble free since we began making them in 2000. If the pan or cover you receive is determined to have some kind of manufacturing defect (i.e., machining problem, leak due to porosity in pan wall), PML will replace the part. If you sell your vehicle with our part installed, we will honor the warranty with the new owner. If you run a cover or pan into a boulder and it cracks or is damaged, well, there's nothing PML can help you with there. Modifying our products voids the warranty. Our products are designed to fit factory original equipment. However, in some applications, or because of the use of certain factory options and/or after market equipment, there may be clearance or fitment problems between our products and your vehicle components. PML provides dimensions and pictures so you can check your vehicle before ordering. It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner and installer to install the part correctly and to ensure that there is no contact between the PML part and other moving or fixed vehicle components.
