1894 Qing Empire China, 3c Mollendorf Dowager, In 1894 P.G. von Mollendorf ordered a number of special printing of Dowager 60th Birthday Stamp in a Set of 9 with thick unwatermarked paper for presentation purposes. Von Mollendorf was then a custom official at the Qing Court and the set of 9 stamps ordered was known as Mollendorf Issue. I have here 1 stamp from a set of 9 Mollendorf Dowager. The stamp is a 3Candarin Yellow Dragon Facing Left. There are some very faint blue ink marks on the top left for character “fen”. The stamp is in very fresh color mint hinged with original gum, in very fine condition.
