Original Vintage 1940s Watercolour Painting by Mary E. Milford

On offer is a vintage watercolour painting dating to 1949. It has been executed in a charming style and would make a good decorative item. It is inscribed "June 12th 1949" and is from a folio of works by amateur artist Mary Elspeth Milford. Please see the photos.

Mary Elspeth Milford was the daughter of Dick Milford, a well known clergyman, educator and philanthropist who was involved in the founding of Oxfam. He spent time working as Canon and Chancellor of Lincoln Cathedral and a number of the paintings in the collection show the Cathedral and its' surrounds. Dick Milford was born at Yockleton Hall in Shropshire and married Nancy Dickens Bourchier, great granddaughter of Charles Dickens. His life is well documented online and makes interesting reading. Please see our other Ebay listings for further paintings from this collection.

With a pencil sketch on the back of the painting (please see photos).

It measures approx 23cm x 14cm.
