Delivery
Delivery Process
Delivery of most furniture (excluding smaller pieces like nests, lamp
tables etc) is to doorstep only via a
pallet service so if you have ordered a large, heavy piece of furniture you
may need to arrange someone to help you get this into your home. In some
instances the driver may offer to help but please be advised that this is at
the driver’s discretion only and is not part of the delivery service they
offer.
Once we have despatched your furniture to the courier (usually within 5
working days) they will contact you directly via your contact number registered
on Ebay to arrange delivery. Please ensure that your contact number registered
on Ebay is up to date as an old contact number is likely to delay your
delivery. Please note that although accurate the dates on Ebay are estimated
only and the actual delivery date can be slightly affected by your
geographical location. If the delivery company have a van in your area prior to
your estimated dates and they have space on their van then they will endeavour
to get your delivery to you sooner.
Unfortunately you will not be able to choose your delivery date. In most cases we
offer free delivery to mainland England & Wales so the delivery company
will plan your route based on when they have a build up of orders in your area
to make the delivery as cost effective as possible. Please, please, please do
not start to book time off work until the courier has confirmed the delivery
date with you!
The Delivery Company will typically deliver from as early as 07:00 until
they finish their deliveries later in the afternoon so will generally be
anywhere between the hours of 07:00 – 18:00, Monday - Friday. Although not
unknown it is unusual for the courier to offer a weekend delivery.
The delivery company will not attempt to deliver without your
confirmation that they are ok to do so, so please ensure that you reply to any
messages left for you asking you to call back to confirm the delivery date.
Smaller Items (coffee tables, table nests, lamp tables, bedside tables
etc)
In the case of much smaller items it is highly likely that we will send
them via a parcel courier since this is quicker and more cost effective. If
your order is subject to this service we will endeavour to pre notify you and
upload tracking information to your order. Again please bear in mind that some
of these parcel couriers never quite seem to deliver on the day we intend them
to (!) so please keep any eye on the parcel tracking we provide and start to
think about leaving a note for the courier asking him or her to leave the
parcel somewhere safe in your absence (shed, neighbour, garage etc).
Access to your property
Your delivery is likely to be loaded onto a lorry (larger
than a van) therefore if you think there are likely to be problems with access
for larger vehicles (narrow roads and tracks, parking problems etc) then it is
imperative that you advise of this as soon as possible after making your purchase.
Flats / Apartments
Unfortunately the driver will not be able to take your furniture to your
specific apartment if it involves flights of stairs, long walks etc so please
assume they may only be able to bring it to your communal entrance. It is at
the driver’s discretion as to whether they take it any further. Unfortunately
the drivers do not unpack your furniture for you.
Surcharges to Scotland
Due to the increased cost of travelling to the more northern parts of
Scotland we have to make a surcharge for these deliveries. Typically if you
live north of Glasgow / Edinburgh we may have to make an additional £30 charge
for these deliveries.
Unfortunately we do not offer delivery to anywhere offshore that is not
reachable by bridge (eg. Isle of Wight, Shetland, Orkney, Channel Islands, Isle
of Man, Northern Island etc)
Customer Collections
For security reasons customer collections are not possible, this is not
something we can change
Failed Deliveries
Please note that Oak & Pine will make an additional delivery charge
to any customers that fail to meet the drivers on the designated booked
delivery date. If the driver arrives and finds no one in they will attempt to
call you. If they still cannot contact you they will contact their office to
request authorisation to fail the delivery and move on. Due to the volume of
deliveries they need to make each day and the distance they have to cover they
will not be able to return to your property later in the day so please ensure
you or someone else is available at you property to sign for the delivery when
they arrive.
